Country Music Legend Jeffrey Steele Has Written an Unreleased Song With Candace Owens

Conservative commentator Candace Owens featured country music legend Jeffrey Steele on her podcast in October 2021. They mused about many things including the world of country music and how woke politics has started to corrode the traditions within the genre such as God, country, flag, family, and the simple country lifestyle. Mr. Steele expounds on how we don't see artists like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard or George Jones anymore because of the way culture is changing. It can be said then that country music, inasmuch as it preserves its own traditional roots, is an emblem of American conservatism.

Songs like Aaron Lewis' "Am I The Only One" which was co-written by Jeffrey Steele & Ira Dean shouldn't be controversial, despite its jab at Bruce Springsteen's politics. It is a song simply about America from Jeffrey's perspective, much like songs he has written for artists like Montgomery Gentry. Jeffrey goes on to say that "there is quiet a silent majority of people who want to hear it, they love this county". When will we hear more songs like this?

After telling a story from his father about how liberals are good at coming up with ideas like seat belts but would destroy the country if ever elected, Candace reacts to Jeffrey by somehow mentioning they have written a song together about how patriotism has become controversial. Candace goes on to promise Jeffrey Steele that she will release the song, at some point.

At the time of the writing of this article, the song has not been released. Do you think Candace & Mr. Steele will ever release their conservative country anthem together?

If you happen to be in Austin, you can catch Jeffrey Steele performing at Minds Fest this Saturday. Tickets here.
