Eminem's Brother Shares Shocking 5-Word Response After Mother's Passing

Debbie Nelson, the inspiration behind many of Eminem's brutally cutting lyrics, passed away at the age of 69 on Monday after a battle with lung cancer.

Her half-son, Nathan Mathers, who Eminem took under his wing after she couldn't even manage to keep her family together, posted a scathing five-word statement to his Instagram story: "Hatred and mixed emotions today."

I didn't grow up with the Mather brothers and I never knew Debbie, but based off Eminem's lyrics, I don't think I can blame Nathan's reaction. Who wouldn't feel conflicting emotions after growing up in such a broken and abusive home?

Debbie notoriously denied Eminem's accusations, often claiming she was in fact the victim when her son's lyrics painted a very different picture. In 1999, she sued Eminem for $10 million over claims of defamation only to walk away with a measly $1,646 after all was said and done. Either Eminem she had a crummy lawyer or Eminem's claims were actually substantiated in court.

Despite being a mouthpiece for the liberal establishment in recent years, Eminem tried to keep his family together by becoming Nathan's legal guardian after the foster care system failed his brother. God bless him for it. Meanwhile, Debbie was out there living her life, leaving her kids to deal with the fallout of her choices.

Eminem has yet to comment publicly, but if he does, I don't imagine he will be sharing fond memories.
