Rich's remark came after it was announced that Carrie Underwood would be performing at Trump's second inauguration next week.
"There are several top tier country artists who support Trump, and I wish they'd finally have the balls to come forward and be counted," Rich wrote. "Ain't nothing outlaw about keeping your mouth shut to appease the record label.
"Carrie Underwood is making you look like a bunch of sissy boys," he added.
Shortly after the announcement, a recent Instagram post of Underwood's became inundated by disgruntled leftists who were angry that she was slated to perform for Trump.
"Have been a fan of yours from the beginning but just heard you will be singing at Trump's inauguration," one angry fan commented. "Just lost all respect for you. How can you support someone so hateful? Sad to hear this news."
Underwood broke her silence on the announcement later Monday
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," Underwood said.
"I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future," she added.
