Kid Rock, known offstage as Bob Richie, recently shared his unfiltered views on cancel culture during a candid conversation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on The Tucker Carlson Encounter, airing on the Tucker Carlson Network.
The conversation kicked off with Kid Rock reminiscing about the controversy that ensued when he took a stand against a Bud Light partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, showcasing his disdain for the rainbow agenda. Despite facing cancellation attempts over the years for his outspoken statements, Kid Rock remains unfazed.
The conversation then delved into the broader issue of cancel culture and the perceived division in America. Kid Rock believes that while he hasn't changed since the peak of his success, societal norms have shifted dramatically. According to the rock artist, today's insistence on political correctness stifles individuality and diminishes the fun in being oneself. He also spoke well of Donald Trump, calling him an incrediby tough person
Reflecting on the evolving times, Kid Rock bemoaned the hypersensitivity of the younger generation. With a nostalgic nod to the adage "sticks and stones may break my bones," he criticized the current trend of seeking redress for perceived offenses. In his eyes, society is fostering a generation of "pussies" who lack the resilience to weather differing opinions.
Kid Rock and Jason Aldean have also announced an epic summer tour throughout America in support of freedom. Acknowledging that there is a need for a cultural revival in underserved areas, Kid Rock cited the success of shows like Yellowstone and Duck Dynasty as evidence of an unmet demand for entertainment. The tour, aptly named "Rock the Country," will consist of seven festivals in small towns like Ocala, Florida, Mobile, Alabama, and Rome, Georgia, among others.
