New Captain America is WOKE

I don't know about anyone else, but I checked out of the Marvel movies around 2018. They were really awesome when they began, and it was great finally seeing characters and storylines done justice by people who actually cared about the source material. But it became so oversaturated.

Suddenly, they started pumping up these lesser-known characters and comic series that may have had their own niche fan base, but overall weren't widely received well. It became transparant that they were doing it all for the money.

Worse, they started doing the whole DEI character schtick, which notably seemed to start with Captain Marvel's whole girl power story.

Right around Avengers: Endgame, they were in full-force DEI, replacing Chris Evans' Captain America with Anthony Mackie. I understood they were going for a passing of the torch kind of moment, but it didn't play off well at all. I would have rather the character die off with Chris Evans' departure.

It didn't, and now we have Mackie's upcoming feature film debut as the "new" Captain America. Only problem is, he actually hates the character.

“Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations," Mackie said for some reason during a recent interview about the upcoming film.

Mackie went on to say Captain America was a character who "keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity," which is great. But how can you have a Captain America that doesn't represent America?
