'Wicked' Actress Demands We All Stop Laughing

You can't even make a joke without someone crying "ableism," these days. Marissa Bode, the actress who plays Nessarose in the latest flop, Wicked, has taken to social media to play the victim card.

Yes, she's out there condemning what she calls "aggressive" and "very gross" comments about her character's disability. But let's get real here - we're all sick of the identity politics nonsense.

Bode, who uses a wheelchair both on and off the screen, seems to forget that comedy--even dark comedy--has always been part of our culture. It's the great equalizer, poking fun at everyone and everything. But now, in 2024, if you dare to jest about someone's disability, you're suddenly the villain in a poorly written melodrama.

Her plea for others to unlearn their ableism sounds like another chapter in the progressive handbook, pushing us all into a corner where we're supposed to tip-toe around every possible sensitivity. It's all so exhausting.
