Big Music Break-Up: Blake Shelton Parts Ways with Warner Music Nashville After 20 Years

After more than two decades of working together, Blake Shelton and Warner Music Nashville have officially gone their separate ways. The news was announced on Tuesday, with both parties stating that they are "amicably parting ways."

Shelton first teamed up with Warner Music Nashville back in 2003 with his album "The Dreamer," following his debut with Giant Records. His last album with Warner, "Body Language," was released in May 2021.

Reflecting on his journey, Shelton shared, "I moved to Nashville at 17 to chase my dream of singing country music. Warner helped make that dream a reality. I'm thankful to everyone at Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records, and Warner Music Nashville who supported me along the way."

Warner Music Nashville also released a statement, saying, "Working with Blake for 23 years has been an honor. We've shared countless hit songs, sold-out tours, and award wins. While our time together has ended, we're proud to have been part of Blake's incredible journey and remain his biggest fans."

The split follows the departure of Shelton's longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, who left his executive role at Warner last year. Hendricks had been with Warner for 16 years and continues to work with Shelton as an independent producer.

Shelton's time with Warner saw him rack up 28 No. 1 country hits, 11 billion global streams, and millions of albums and singles sold. His last two No. 1 hits with Warner were duets with his wife, Gwen Stefani: "Nobody but You" and "Happy Anywhere," both released in 2020.

In addition to his music career, Shelton gained mainstream fame as a judge on "The Voice," a role he held from 2011 until last year. In 2022, he sold ownership of his master recordings from 2001 to 2019 to Influence Media Partners, securing continued profits from his catalog.

Shelton has been busy touring throughout 2024 and has a residency lined up at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in February. As of now, there's no word on where Shelton might head next, but fans are sure to follow wherever his journey takes him.
