Brian Kelley Electrifies RNC with "American Spirit" and Unveils Upcoming "Make America Great Again" Song

Brian Kelley, former member of Florida Georgia Line, teased a new song after his performance during the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night (July 17) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sharing a photo on Instagram from his performance of "American Spirit" at the RNC, Kelley revealed the title of a new song he plans to release: "Make America Great Again." While the Instagram post did not include audio, the title references the slogan popularized by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump during his 2016 campaign.

The song Kelley performed at the event, "American Spirit," was released during the July 4th weekend in 2022 as a tribute to military members and others who sacrificed to defend the United States. Inspired by his grandfather, John Edward Kelley, a World War II U.S. Army veteran who earned two Purple Hearts, "American Spirit" resonated deeply with the RNC audience.

Adding to the night's highlights, several fraternity members from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill were near the stage and received cheers from the audience. These fraternity members had gone viral after a video showed them attempting to keep an American flag aloft during a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus in April.

Brian Kelley’s performance and the reveal of his new song’s title brought a mix of music, patriotism, and political resonance to the RNC stage, further amplifying the evening's energy and enthusiasm.
