Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is gearing up for an epic celebration this Labor Day, September 2nd, as Flagstock 2024 rolls into town. Hosted by John Rich, the award-winning, multi-platinum hitmaker and one-half of the duo Big & Rich, this event promises to be a patriotic extravaganza.
Flagstock 2024, organized in collaboration with Pints for Patriots, will feature an impressive lineup of performers. Big & Rich, Aaron Lewis (of Staind), Five For Fighting, and the legendary Lee Greenwood are set to perform during the two-hour concert for UNC students. Following the main event, an exclusive after-party featuring Twinsick will take place, though it will not be live-streamed.
John Rich expressed his excitement, saying, “We made a promise to the boys in North Carolina to give them a free concert, and now we’re ready to throw down on Labor Day to salute these patriots of UNC! These guys have become a symbol of hope for a generation and have so much potential to lead. We plan to kick the school year off right in Chapel Hill, so be prepared to have a rockin’ good time as we celebrate our freedom!”
The event stems from a viral fundraiser initiated by Pints for Patriots, honoring fraternity brothers who protected a U.S. flag from pro-Palestinian protesters. The fundraiser quickly amassed over $515,000, which is now being used to host the concert and donate to various charities, including Back the Blue NC, Wounded Warrior Project, Children of Fallen Patriots, and Zeta Beta Tau Foundation to combat anti-Semitism.
John Noonan, the organizer of the GoFundMe campaign, added, “We want to extend special thanks to John Rich for his energy and leadership in making this possible. Our gratitude remains with our donors, who wanted nothing more than to say ‘thank you’ to these fine young men who acted with moral clarity and courage.”
Flagstock 2024 is not just a concert but a celebration of patriotism and a tribute to the spirit of the UNC students. With performances by some of country music’s biggest names and the energy and leadership of John Rich, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience.
