Country music powerhouse Miranda Lambert is set to receive the prestigious Country Icon Award at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards, which will be hosted by Shania Twain on Sept. 26 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
The award recognizes Lambert's two-decade career, during which she has built a unique, female-forward brand of country music that has shaped the industry. NBCUniversal's Jen Neal praised Lambert as a "tour de force" who continues to capture the hearts of fans worldwide with her fierce individuality and innovation.
Lambert, who released her debut album Kerosene nearly 20 years ago, shows no signs of slowing down. Recently, she opened up about mentoring younger artists, stating, “Since I don’t have children of my own, I want to use what I’ve learned to guide the younger generation.”
This award was previously presented to the late Toby Keith at the 2023 People's Choice Country Awards, making Lambert the second recipient of this honor. Lambert remains committed to her craft and has taken on the role of mentor for younger artists.
Her passion for music and mentoring is as strong as ever, keeping her legacy alive and thriving in the country music world. As Lambert continues to break new ground, her influence on country music shows no signs of slowing down.
