The album, which released on Jan. 23, 2021, debuted at No. 1 and spent 10 weeks topping the chart, a feat which had not been accomplished since Whitney Houston's 1987 album Whitney.
Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album was followed by Adele's 21, Taylor Swift's Fearless and 1989, along with the Original Broadway Cast Recording, "Hamilton: An American Musical."
Although Billboard named Wallen's album the No. 1 album of the century, Taylor Swift took the top spot on Billboard's top 10 artists of the 21st century. Wallen notably did not break the top 10 on that Billboard list.
Wallen also began 2025 by charting on Billboard's Hot 100 list with his latest single, "Smile," which was released on New Year's Eve.
The song and accompanying video takes a more reflective approach compared to the "Whiskey Glasses" artist's previous breakout songs.
The country star has charted three previous times on Billboard's Hot 100 with "Love Somebody," which debuted at $1, "I Had Some Help," with gengre-bending musical chameloan Post Malone, and "Last Night."
Wallen's Billboard charting marks a stark contrast to Wallen's tumultuous 2024, which saw the country star arrested after throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church's Nashville bar.
