The song, released on New Year's Eve, officially debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 at #27 today. However, because of the song's holiday release, it managed to chart in only several days, and is expected to rise even higher.
The song and accompanying video takes a more reflective approach compared to the "Whiskey Glasses" artist's previous breakout songs.
“It was good to see you smile / Girl you know it’s been a while," Wallen sings. "It was good to see you smile / Even if it was just for the picture.”
The country star has charted three previous times on Billboard's Hot 100 with "Love Somebody," which debuted at $1, "I Had Some Help," with gengre-bending musical chameloan Post Malone, and "Last Night."
Beginning 2025 by charting on Billboard is a stark contrast to Wallen's tumultuous 2024, which saw the country star arrested after throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church's Nashville bar. Wallen was originally charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment, though entered a plea deal with two misdemeanor charges and was instead sentenced to two years of probation, alogn with attending a seven-day DUI education class.
Can't wait to see what else Wallen has up his sleeve this year.
