Patriotic Festival Returns for its Second Year, Showcasing Country Music Stars Walker Hayes, Sam Hunt, and More

Get ready for a weekend filled with country-fried tunes, family-friendly activities, and an overwhelming sense of patriotism as the Patriotic Festival makes its highly-anticipated return to downtown Norfolk in Virginia. This country music extravaganza, held at Scope, is dedicated to honoring our military service members during the Memorial Day weekend.

Headlining the festival are chart-topping artists who are sure to set the stage on fire. On Friday, the energetic Walker Hayes will take the spotlight, followed by the charismatic Sam Hunt on Saturday, and the talented Cody Johnson on Sunday.

Hayes rose to prominence with his infectiously catchy 2021 hit "Fancy Like," which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Top 100. Meanwhile, Hunt's debut album "Montevallo" soared to No. 3 on the Billboard 200, spawning several popular singles and earning him Grammy nominations.

Sunday's performance by Johnson promises to be an unforgettable experience, with his soul-stirring live rendition of "‘Til You Can’t" having earned him a prestigious Country Music Television Award in 2022.

Each night of the festival will feature additional musical guests, including Corey Kent, Cooper Alan, Jordan Davis, Tracielynn, Drew Green, Randy Houser, Tyler Booth, and DJ Ty Street, ensuring a diverse and dynamic lineup.

In addition to the sensational music, festival-goers can enjoy a free performance by singer-songwriter Jay Allen, a former contestant on NBC's "The Voice." Known for his heartfelt tribute song "Blank Stares" dedicated to his late mother, Allen's music has evolved into a more vibrant and up-tempo style.

As the festival relocates to Scope for the second year, organizers aim to minimize the risks associated with adverse weather conditions that plagued its previous outdoor venue. Last year's edition, marking the festival's reopening after a two-year hiatus, generated an impressive $9 million economic impact on the city, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

To enhance the festival experience, a free "tailgating area" will be set up on Scope Plaza, featuring delectable food and beverages from various vendors. Additionally, Naval Station Norfolk personnel will showcase the incredible skills of their military dogs, adding an extra touch of excitement to the festivities.
