Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Frontman Tells Christians and Trump Voters to Stay Away From His Shows

Another rock star has gone full woke—this time it’s Ronnie Winter, frontman of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, who’s not just preaching politics but excommunicating his own fans.

In a bizarre and bitter rant posted to Instagram, Winter—who claims to be a Christian—declared that any fan who supports Donald Trump is no longer welcome at his concerts. He even went as far as saying that songs like “Face Down,” the band’s anti-abuse anthem that resonated with an entire generation, aren’t “for” Trump voters anymore.

“If you’re a Christian and you voted for Trump, shame on you,” Winter said in the video, going on to claim that true believers in Jesus must adopt leftist ideology or be considered frauds. He made it crystal clear: no MAGA hats allowed in the crowd, no exceptions, no forgiveness. Not now. Not ever.

Winter’s outburst wasn’t just a one-off meltdown. He referenced his ongoing “Stay Woke” campaign, defended his woke lyrics, and bragged about never deleting his anti-conservative posts since 2020. He even praised transgender ideology in his recent music and warned that future shows would be packed with “woke propaganda.”

For longtime fans—many of whom found solace in the band’s early 2000s hits that tackled real issues like domestic violence and suicide—this turn feels like a betrayal. For years, Winter professed a deep Christian faith and avoided politics on stage. But now, he’s flipped the script, lecturing his audience about what kind of Christianity is acceptable and weaponizing his faith to cancel anyone who doesn’t vote like him.

Ironically, the singer who once stood out for his punk boldness is now just another voice demanding ideological conformity. His message is loud and clear: disagree with his politics, and you're not just unwelcome—you're morally inferior.

For a band that once united people through emotional honesty and raw musical talent, it’s a sad fall from grace. Maybe Ronnie Winter should take his own advice and wake up—because Jesus wasn’t a socialist, and “Face Down” was never supposed to be a partisan weapon.
