Will the Real Al Green Please Stand Up? Joey Mannarino Sets the Record Straight

Conservative commentator Joey Mannarino set the record straight after Trump's speech to congress last night, making sure no one confuses legendary soul singer Al Green with Democrat Rep. Al Green—the man who made a spectacle of himself by interrupting President Trump’s speech.

Taking to X, Mannarino dropped a much-needed clarification: “Just so everyone understands, the Al Green who made a whole entire ass of himself last night at the State of the Union is NOT the same Al Green who recorded the legendary songs 'Let’s Stay Together,' 'Simply Beautiful,' and 'Love and Happiness.'”

While the iconic Al Green has left his mark on music history and now serves as a pastor, the other Al Green—better known for grandstanding than governing—added another embarrassing moment to his résumé with his antics during Trump’s address.

Mannarino has built a reputation for cutting through the noise and delivering hard-hitting takes with a dose of humor. His ability to call out political absurdities while keeping things entertaining is exactly why he’s become a go-to voice for conservatives looking for sharp, unfiltered commentary.

The contrast between the two Al Greens couldn’t be more striking. One left a legacy of soul and timeless music. The other? Just another Democrat playing political theater.

Thanks to Mannarino, the record has been set straight. One Al Green deserves our respect. The other? Not so much.
