Yak Gotti's Shocking Jailhouse Attack: Inside the Brutal Stabbing of YSL Rapper

Deamonte Kendrick, known by his stage name Yak Gotti, was stabbed at the Fulton County Jail on Sunday, according to his attorney Doug Weinstein. Despite the violent incident, Kendrick, who is awaiting a jury verdict in the YSL gang and racketeering trial, is expected to appear in court.

The attack occurred at the jail's south annex in Union City, with Kendrick reportedly suffering minor injuries. This comes at a critical time as jurors are set to resume deliberations on gang, murder, drug, and gun charges against Kendrick and his co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell. Both were part of a large group indicted in 2022 for allegedly conspiring to violate Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

The trial, which has been ongoing for nearly two years since jury selection began, has seen its share of drama and delays, including another co-defendant, Stillwell, being stabbed previously at the same jail. The incident with Gotti adds another layer to this already complex and lengthy legal battle, highlighting issues of safety and security within the jail system.

Following the altercation, an investigation has been initiated by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, with expectations that Gotti will recover fully from his injuries.
